02 — How it smokes

Cone-filled is loose-tipped, packed-base, uneven-burn.
A NOVA-rolled pre-roll smokes the same, every time.

Cone-filling settles flower into a pre-formed paper cone with vibration and gravity. The result is uneven density tip-to-crutch — and consumers feel it on the first draw. NOVA wraps flower in cigarette-style paper under controlled mechanical pressure, weight-checked on every cycle. What that means for the smoker:

NOVA — rolled Cone-filled Hand-rolled
Burn line
How evenly the flame travels from tip to crutch.
Straight, uniform burn line

No canoeing. No tunneling. No re-lights.

Prone to canoeing & running

Soft tip collapses; one side burns ahead.

Variable

Depends entirely on the roller's hand.

Draw consistency
How airflow feels first hit to last.
Uniform from first to last

Same effort to draw at every stage.

Tight, then loose

Packed crutch resists; loose tip rushes air.

Variable
Density tip → crutch
How tightly flower is packed across the length.
Uniform, end-to-end

Mechanical pressure is constant; load-cell verified.

Loose tip, packed crutch

Gravity-settled; cone shape concentrates flower at base.

Operator-dependent
Ash
A signal of even combustion.
Holds white, holds shape

Even burn temperature, complete combustion.

Flaky, falls in chunks

Hot/cold pockets leave dark, broken ash.

Variable
Smoke smoothness & taste
What the consumer notices on draw three.
Cooler, smoother, terps intact

Even temp preserves volatile compounds; no harsh hot pockets.

Hot pockets, harsh draws

Loose sections combust hot; tight sections starve and bitter.

Hand-skill-dependent
Visual finish on shelf
What the customer picks up before they buy.
Cylindrical, even taper

Reads as cigarette-style; a finished product.

Cone shape, soft visible tip

Looks under-packed; signals value-tier to most buyers.

Inconsistent
Repeatability
The reason customers come back.
Same experience, every unit

Brand trust accumulates with every consistent pack.

Pack-to-pack variance

One smokes great; the next canoes. Consumer trust erodes.

Roller-dependent
Best retail tier
Where the product earns its price.
Premium $20 – $40 Value & mid $5 – $15 Premium small-batch

03 — The economics of consistency

The same uniformity that smokes better
recovers margin you used to give away.

Cone-filled lines lose 30–80 g of flower per 1,000 units to overpacking and inconsistent settling. At 100,000 units / month, that's product you paid for, processed, and never sold:

Avg flower recovered per month

~3.5 kg

Going from 35 g → 5 g giveaway per 1,000 units. Compounds across every run, every shift, every quarter.

Reject & rework rate

5% 1%

Uniform density and load-cell-verified weight cut quality-fail rework to a third or less.

Recovery and reject estimates based on observed performance vs. cone-filling lines. Actual savings depend on flower cost, target weight, paper type, operator setup, and QC standards.
